Tile Contractor in Sudbury, MAColonials and Capes, tiled right.

Single-family Colonials and large Capes, with room for walk-in showers and long kitchen walls.

Sudbury, Massachusetts

Sudbury is mostly single-family.

More than eight in ten Sudbury homes are single-family houses.

About nine in ten households own theirs, and that shapes the work.

One-acre zoning kept Sudbury rural through the 1970s and 80s.

That is when developments of Colonials and large Capes went in.

The typical house here dates to around the late 1970s.

Fewer than one in fifteen was built before 1940.

These are rooms people plan to keep.

A primary bath gets a full walk-in shower, and a kitchen gets a backsplash that runs wall to wall.

About one in four was built after 2000, and newer houses tend to have large baths and big kitchens.

The houses here

What Sudbury houses have room for.

  • Primary baths with space

Larger newer houses have room for a wide walk-in shower with a bench and two niches.

With that much wall, we draw the tile layout first so the pattern lands evenly.

  • Kitchens that run long

Big kitchens mean long backsplash runs, and a long wall shows any drift in the layout.

We start at the center of the main wall and work out, so the ends match.

  • Colonials and large Capes

Developments of Colonials and large Capes went in through the 1970s and 80s.

Baths from that time often have a dated tub surround and a small floor, and they are ready for a redo.

Sudbury Center is about 15 minutes from Framingham.

We take Route 126, then Route 20 and Route 27. Call or text to book a free estimate.

American Tile installed a beautiful, glass backsplash in our kitchen. We had purchased the tile separately without Rodolfo’s advice, and we made an error in our selection of tile and grout combination. Rodolfo found the best solution, did the job (with great difficulty), made it right and we ended up with a gorgeous backsplash for Christmas entertaining. I would definitely call him again for our next tile project.
